6m Container Dome Overview
A 6m container dome is a tensioned fabric shelter built between two parallel shipping containers. The containers form the structural side walls, a galvanised steel truss spans the gap, and UV-resistant heavy-duty fabric is tensioned over the frame. You get covered storage for vehicles, plant, bulk materials, or equipment – without pouring a slab, without council approvals, and without the cost of a permanent building.
The fabric is commercial-grade PVC or polyethylene, UV-stabilised for Australian sun, and rated for wind loads up to Region C (cyclone rating upgrades available for Region D at +25-35% cost). The truss is hot-dip galvanised steel, bolted to the containers via ISO corner castings – no welding, no permanent modification to the containers.
Setup is fast. Drop the two containers parallel at 6 metres apart, bolt the truss to the corner castings, tension the fabric, done. Total install time is typically one day for a standard 6m dome using 20ft containers, or up to two days for a 40ft configuration.
Supplied & Installed (from $6,800) includes the dome structure, fabric, truss, all fixings, and installation labour. Price varies based on container length (20ft or 40ft base) and whether you need cyclone rating.
Containers (if needed) are quoted separately – $5,500 each for 20ft Premium Used, $7,900 each for 40ft Premium Used. If you already have containers on site, we can build the dome between them.
