Container Hire Overview

Container hire is the right answer when you don’t need to own a container for life – when the requirement is project-bound, when you want operational flexibility, or when capital is better spent elsewhere. We hire the full range: standard 20ft and 40ft, high cubes, side openings, reefers, modified site offices, ablutions, and dangerous goods units. Same depot stock as our sales fleet, same condition standards, same Perth-held inventory.

Hire terms run from one week to multi-year leases. Short-term hire (under three months) suits events, renovations, harvest seasons, and one-off projects. Medium-term (3–12 months) is standard for construction projects, mine site contracts, and seasonal businesses. Long-term hire (12+ months) frequently makes sense for businesses that need storage but want to avoid capital expenditure, depreciation, and disposal at end of life.

Our hire model is straightforward. You tell us what you need, how long for, and where it’s going. We quote a fixed daily, weekly, or monthly rate with no hidden fees. Delivery and pickup is included on hires of 6 months or longer; shorter terms have transparent delivery charges quoted upfront. The container stays your problem operationally (loading, locking, contents insurance) and ours physically (we maintain it, we replace it if it fails, we collect it when you’re done).

For mining and resources clients, we offer fleet-scale leasing – 10, 50, or 200+ unit contracts with consolidated billing, dedicated account management, and priority delivery. For construction principals running multiple projects across Perth and regional WA, we structure annualised hire arrangements with site-by-site logistics handled by our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the minimum hire term?

Standard hire is one week for unmodified containers. Modified units (site offices, ablutions) have a six-month minimum because the fit-out costs need to amortise. Reefers and dangerous goods units typically have a one-month minimum for the same reason.

We deliver and pick up using our own tilt-tray and Hiab trucks. On hires of six months or longer, delivery and pickup within the Perth metro area is included in the rate. Shorter hires have delivery charged separately – we quote it upfront so there are no surprises.

Yes. If your requirements change – you started with a 20ft and now need a 40ft, or you started with storage and now need a modified site office – we’ll swap units. Minor rate adjustments apply but we don’t penalise scope changes.

You are, for contents and operational damage. We are, for normal wear, structural defects, and refrigeration failure on reefers. Most hirers take our optional damage waiver ($1.50/day on standard units) which covers accidental damage up to a defined limit – it’s cheaper than dealing with a dent claim at end of hire.

We don’t insure your stored goods – that’s your responsibility through your own business insurance or a standalone contents policy. We can recommend brokers if needed.

You tell us you’re done, we book a pickup, we send a tilt-tray to collect, and we close out the account. Final invoice covers any pro-rated days plus the pickup fee (waived on 6+ month hires). Damage assessment, if applicable, happens at depot.

Yes – most hirers can buy out their unit at any point. We’ll quote a transfer price that credits some of the hire paid against the sale. Often makes sense after 12+ months of hire when the math starts favouring ownership.

Yes – we hire across the Perth metro and regional WA including Bunbury, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, the Pilbara, and Kimberley. Delivery is quoted per location based on distance. Long-term hires routinely service mine sites and remote operations.

We can usually accommodate priority delivery within 24–48 hours for Perth metro with a small priority fee. Stock allocation and truck availability determine final timing – call us and we’ll give you a direct answer.

Short answer: hire is cheaper for under about 18 months, buying is cheaper beyond that. Long answer: it depends on capital cost, depreciation, disposal at end of life, and what else the capital could do for your business. We’ll run the math honestly when you call.
